Erick Thompson

In 2011, Erick co-founded ET2media, after working for a decade as a television news anchor and reporter at CTV Vancouver Island. In 2009, he won an RTNDA award (Radio and Television News Directors Association) for a feature TV news series, which he produced and filmed in Nepal.

He is an excellent communicator and a professional emcee. He has volunteered with several organizations including United Way, Salvation Army, Canadian Home Builders’ Association and Okanagan Similkameen Parks Society. He has also hosted live broadcasts and election debates for Shaw and Rogers.

Erick has a diverse background in television, film, radio, print and technology. He is also a strong team leader. He managed sales teams and helped organize launch events during the rollout of high-speed Internet service on Vancouver Island.

He began his media career during his teens - working as a freelance photographer and film extra. When he was 17, he landed a job as a radio DJ in New Brunswick and later joined ABC Television as an assistant to talent and crew during the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary.

Photography and the great outdoors have always been part of Erick’s life. At the age of 13 he spent the summer camping beside the Yukon River, using a Kodak Pocket Instamatic camera to capture the adventure on film. A few years later, he toured the U.S. southwest with a Leica 35mm SLR camera.

Erick is now combining his love of travel and video production by creating interesting and entertaining content for the web and social media.

Erin Trainer

As a co-founder of ET2media, Erin uses her journalism experience and skills to create videos that help small businesses enhance their websites and improve their social media networks.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Erin has a passion for exploring and adventure – and for sharing that passion with the world through print and electronic media.

In the summer months between earning a BA in Political Science at the University of Victoria, Erin worked at Manning Provincial Park, where she developed a deep connection to the outdoors and a zest for experiencing all it had to offer.

After completing a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Erin worked for four years as a television news writer and producer at CTV Vancouver Island in Victoria.

She was the proud assistant producer on Islanders in Nepal, an award-winning series of news reports that aired on Vancouver Island and Greater Vancouver television in 2009.

Erin has travelled all over B.C. and around the world, including the United States, Australia and Europe. Her most recent trip saw her trekking around the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. She is inspired by well-known TV personalities Les Stroud (Survivorman) and Rick Steves (Rick Steve’s Europe), and is a big fan of the TV show Departures on Outdoor Life Network.

When Erin and Erick are not working with clients, they’re dedicating more time to travelling and exploring. Their website notravelplan.com is their way of sharing their experiences with others and, hopefully, inspiring them to do the same. Erin is currently working towards her Diploma in Public Relations at UVIC.
